editCould someone explain why this genus is named after the Greek god of weddings and marriage? —Keenan Pepper 19:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- The name refers to the green leaflets that always occur in matching pairs, hence the Greek god of marriage. Mageslayer99 13:43, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

editn the neotropical region, Hymenaea courbaril has been used as a model organism to study the effect of CO2 concentration on the rate of photosynthesis. When the concentration of CO2 is increased from some unspecified level to 720 ppm, the rate of photosynthesis increases by about 60%, and the rate of cellulose production increases by about 30%. The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere will reach 720 ppm in the year 2100 if it continues to increase from some unspecified time to 2100 at the same rate that it was increasing at that unspecified time.[citation needed] "unspecified" is repeated in this paragraph and renders the paragraph meningless. this para should be removed or rewritten with specific data 188.220.151.59 (talk) 16:49, 8 November 2012 (UTC) user teknotiss.
