• "Hurricane Gordon was the first hurricane to directly impact the Azores since 1992." - Re-word to "the first tropical cyclone", because neither Bonnie or Charley were at hurricane intensity when they impacted the Azores. Meaning that the next most recent hurricane to directly impact the Azores was likely Hurricane Emmy in 1976.

  • No, but the impact was rather similar to Spain, and I thought record warm temperatures was a neat thing to mention in the lede. Also, you neglect to mention how the subsequent sentence mentions the 120,000 power outages in Northern Ireland. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:56, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
• "On September 12, the storm slowed down, the storm turned toward the north through a weakness in the subtropical ridge created by Florence." - This sentence doesn't read very well, mostly because "the storm" "the storm". BTW, it seems kinda redundant to use "the storm" more than once in a sentence; you could easily replaced "the storm" with "Gordon".

• "during which eye decreased in size and the eyewall convection weakened." - Missing the word 'the' between "which" and "eye". Yesterday, I accidentally said to put the word 'the' between "eye" and "decreased".

• Kind of a stupid question, but why is the section header "Storm history" and not "Meteorological history" like all of the other tropical cyclone articles?

• "Gordon's resiliency presented a rare threat – the first since Hurricane Charley in 1992 – to the Azores," - It would actually be Hurricane Bonnie, not Charley. The former affected the Azores a few days after Charley did.

• "Its motion became just south of due east, causing the strongest winds to remain south of the center." - This doesn't make any sense; because Gordon moved south of due east, its strongest were south of the center? I didn't think that the direction in which a tropical cyclone moves may cause it to become asymmetrical.

• On the NHC discussion references, with more than one author, it only shows the last names. Reference #4 says "Mainelli/Beven", but #15 says "Alex Morales and Margot Habiby".

• There is a minor typo on the accessdates for references 4 and 5. The accessdates read "201-05-03"; while it is just simply a 1 missing, that is a difference of over 1,800 years. Imagine that, a Roman Emperor read those two pages.
