Suggest you correct wrong information edit

The Norman Vere Family mainly came from Vire, Ver, Ver River and may be Ver-sur-Mer but there is absolutely no historical or true data on that. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vire_(river) Fighting Vere's - These Normans de Vere's came from the Village of Ver near Coutances i. pp. 185, 190, 215. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucius.veruss (talkcontribs) 03:37, 17 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

dispute over article or redirect edit

There is a stub article, which I wrote and which was repeatedly redirected to Earl of Oxford by User:Lucius.veruss, and the current version is the redirect. As I understand editwar rules I am formally not allowed to replace myself the redirect with the article, which in this case feels a bit absurd to me, but I try to respect enwiki rules and am not interested in having conflicts. For background information please also see Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring (case 20 February 2014, result: Lucius.veruss was warned; also spam warning before).

I think the links to other language Wikipedia articles and Commons at Q1180430 De Vere and Q1277392 Earl of Oxford show the plausibility of a separate family article. The family is definitely not identical to the Earl title, that was hold only by some family members, though this is likely the best known part of the family's history.

I would like to ask other users to decide which version (article or redirect) makes sense. Holger1959 (talk) 01:18, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

The request for a Third Opinion in regard to this matter was removed because 3O's, like all moderated content dispute resolution are only available after thorough talk page discussion has taken place and come to a standstill. If the other editor will not discuss, consider the recommendations which I make at this advice page. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 17:26, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
