Low German
editThe House of Alvensleben is a Low German aristocratic family of the Altmark region...."
Isn't "Low German" a language? I see that the German Wikipedia article on the same family describes it as a "niederdeutschen" noble family, but I don't see examples of this usage in English anywhere else. I'm genuinely curious. Matuko (talk) 23:31, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes it is a language and that seems to be its main use. But Low Germany was a region (the term is rather archaic now) and so Low German can surely be used as a wider adjective for that region. As the context is historical here that would seem to make sense. Bermicourt (talk) 07:18, 15 June 2019 (UTC)
