Suggested move

May I humbly suggest moving this article to Life cycle of the Western honey bee. This would allow a sereies of Life cycle of the ... articles. And hopefully a companion List of insect life cycles, List of amphibian life cycles, List of plant life cycles, List of fungus lifecycles ... etc. and List of lists of life cycles.

At present this appears to be the only single-species lifecycle article, but think of the future.

At the moment I'm just suggesting the initial move to Life cycle of the Western honey bee and perhaps putative creation of List of organism life cycles or List of life cycles (which might serve as redlist request list, or not).

The article is in any case insufficient, as it only includes the physiological development. The life cycle of the worker bee continues through recognised phases as a nursery worker, feeding brood, cleaning cells, building comb, maintaining the temperature of the hive and evaporating water, guarding it, until finally they wear themselves out as foragers collecting pollen, nectar, water and propolis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.211.36.205 (talk) 04:09, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Yolk and capping

1. In the first table, for the queen, capping occurs on day 7 1/2 but larva is up to day 8 1/2. Is it correct? It sounds contradictory.

2. In the second table, what exactly is yolk?

Hello, I am conducting an article evaluation for my wikipedia course. I wanted to suggest for Colony Life and Development to link more of the sentence's information to their corresponding reference. There is some information linked, but it might be helpful to add more in case people can't tell where the informations from. Adding sources from some of the internal link pages may be helpful if some of the information is from those so readers won't have to go back and forth.
