Talk:Hit the Lights (Selena Gomez & the Scene song)

Edits edit

I noticed some sentenced that had no referenced so i took them off the article. If there is not enough information about the composition just leave it as it is, there's a reference for dance music, and so thats what i listed on the genre and composition section since its the only thing we have, and since theres no reference for electro-pop i took it off, and anything else that described the reception or composition that had no referene. About the disco reference: The allmusic reference only described selena gomez' attitude while singing the song, and not the song it self, gomez comes off as a convincing disco diva on hit the lights is not the same as hit the light is a disco song. Get it? i hope the article will stay as it is with not original research if it expands (wich hopefully it will). Thank you 24.139.117.90 (talk) 22:24, 10 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Changing to song edit

The changed the single to a song. The reason is because the song wasn't released as a single. It didn't have a release date like Demi Lovato's song, "Don't Forget". 125.237.122.233 (talk) 02:41, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Single edit

It WILL be a single soon, Hollywood Records have said once Love You Like A Love Song starts falling from the charts they will give this a release date and make it a single. they only released the video really early to get some extra promo for christmas holidays, so be prepared to change it back to single. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.100.39.134 (talk) 23:52, 10 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Permanent Single edit

I prefer this song to be a permanent single because it was released as a single and it has lots of charts and other things that makes it single. It was released worldwide and it has a music video that goes with it. Please do not mess with the "Hit the Lights" page unless you have to edit something that's wrong. The administrators should have only made this page available to edit for auto-confirmed users and other users that have higher membership. I inform this talk page to be enclosed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RomeAntic14 19:34, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The art cover of "Hit the Lights". edit

In the art cover of "Hit the lights", it says "Selena Gomez" but does not say "Selena Gomez & The Scene". I am very sure there is an art cover that says "Selena Gomez & The Scene". I cannot find a "reliable source" of this image so I will come back to you later... 125.237.123.182 (talk) 03:11, 14 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Art cover edit

Well, I've looked everywhere for art cover of "Hit the Lights," but nothing seems to appear on the site I look on. That was the only art cover I can find. No one is perfect at finding anything, because in the "A Year Without Rain" cover, it says "SELENA GOMEZ & THE SCENE," but doesn't say "A YEAR WITHOUT RAIN." So whats the point of people finding things that doesn't appear. I'm really sorry but that was the only cover anyone could find. - RomeAntic14 12:52 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Art cover reply edit

Well, I've just found a "Hit the Lights" cover that says "Selena Gomez & the Scene" on it. It has Selena Gomez on their in a yellow background. - RomeAntic14 13:00 14 January 2012 (UTC)

If you think "Hit the Lights" is a single... edit

Hey guys! If you think "Hit the Lights" is a single (and now I think it is a single too), can you please help me prove that Demi Lovato's Don't Forget is a single, not song? Because a person edited it and said it was a single and I don't believe that. So can you guys please help me? Here is the article: Don't Forget. 125.237.123.182 (talk) 01:07, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Genre...again edit

Whoever keeps changing the genre to "electrodance" needs to stop, just because you think that that is the same as electronic dance doesnt mean it is, if you can find a reliiable source that says electrodance=electronic dance then fine, but in wikipedia electro dance is an actual form of dancing not a genre, and even if electrodance was a genre the source states dance music and ONLY dance music....refering to it as a dance song, then it is from the genre of dance music, i put electronic dance music because it is the genre, unlike putting just Dance music wich refers to any type of music that has a dance or can be danced, like jazz and salsa for example, this however is not the exact case, therefore it refers to electronic dance music, and even if you do not see it that way the reference states dance and ONLY dance, not "electrodance", understand... P.S. if electrodance = electronic dance music = dance music then why so stuborn when it comes to the genre if it is the same thing anyway you put it (electrodance = dance music) and since the reference states dance music not electrodance, then wikipedia will always go with what the reference says regardless of any other synonym that exists, so please i canot stress this enough, dont change it, thank you 24.139.117.90 (talk) 22:12, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Source does not state "electronic dance music" as genre, please do not place the genres without having a source that says such. Source states that the song is dance", so until you have a source that states the genre to be EDM do not change it again or I will notify an administrator, Thank you. --(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 23:19, 19 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hostil much?... that's what i was trying to explain, yes it doesnt say EDM, but my point exactly 24.139.117.90 (talk) 01:42, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the rudeness, kinda realised it after I sent it, it's these awful exams I swear LOL! But yeah I think we found common ground, and that's all that matters!--(CA)Giacobbe (talk 01:51, 20 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Release date edit

The release date just changed to November 16, 2011 to January 27, 2011. What happened? If the release date keeps changing, the single will soon be a song. Also you need a "reliable source" to confirm that the song's release date IS really that. 125.237.123.182 (talk) 01:40, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

November 16, 2011 is official release, while January 27, 2012 is the iTunes release. According to some, November 16, 2011 is likely. --MW3 Warrior (talk) 10:44, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. That helped a lot. 210.55.215.173 (talk) 08:18, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
