This article says "In 1946, when Siegel and Shuster sued for more money, DC fired them, prompting a legal battle that ended in 1948, when they accepted $200,000". Joe Shuster's says "In 1948, the New York State Supreme Court limited their settlement to $60,000 each". Jerry Siegel's says "After a two-year fight, they relinquished their claim in return for about $100,000". While these figures could be loosely interpreted to be compatible, better accuracy is desirable. If someone has the correct values, please update all three articles! rbp

The Broadway musical "It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman!" debuted in 1966, not the year following George Reeves' death. I've added that information to the article. For verifiable source, please see the entry at Internet Broadway Database http://www.ibdb.com/production.asp?ID=3137 MDonfield 09:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I now notice my edit referred above confuses the timeline of the paragraph, because The Adventures of Superboy and Adventures of Superpup were prior to 1966, but I don't have the correct dates available from a confirmable source. MDonfield 09:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Slight Reorganization

edit

I thought the organization that came right out of Hesiod's Ages of Man was a little ridiculous, so I changed it, hope you all will agree.Wakefencer

Merging

edit

I've merged info here from Superman, I do intend to sort it out more properly but it's late and I need to get to bed. I'll work on splitting out the fictional biography from the publication details and integrate it all better in the next few days. Hiding Talk 00:03, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:InfiniteCrisisCv5Perez.jpg

edit

Image:InfiniteCrisisCv5Perez.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Origins of Superman

edit

This article is very poor regarding Supermans original version, for example originally he is in New York city working for the Daily Star newspaper, he cannot fly and uses gigantic leaps to move around which inspired the tv versions opening narration "leaps tall buildings in a single bound". This article needs a major rewrite.86.5.134.132 (talk) 00:15, 1 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Action Comics #1000

edit

Is it a good idea to add an image of Superman from Action Comics #1000? It is a celebration of Superman's history and it makes sense that an image from that issue gets added to the article. Leader Vladimir (talk) 19:01, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
