@Huldra: Assuming this is the same as "Hubran an-Nasara" in Nahia Bani Nasiyya, could you please provide the tax info? The name "an-Nasara" suggests a Christian presence (contemporary or at least formerly)—I wonder if the inhabitants at the time were Christians? @Al Ameer son: yeah, you were right, this was "Hubran an-Nasara"; nice find! (It was a bit tricky to figure out, as I don't have good maps for that part of Syria, and the accompanying Hütteroth-map simply didn't mention this place.) Anyway, the 1596 population was all Muslim; that can be Sunni, Shia, Alawit or Druse: we will probably never know. AFAIK; the defers that time only distinguished between Muslim, Christian and Jews.
