US stuff edit
Again Wikipedia is assuming everyone understands all these strange american terms. This article should make clear that hiatus is a term used in the USA (maybe Canada also). All this reference to 'sweeps', 'mid-season replacements' and 'hiatus' is confusing for normal wikipedia users. the changes i made edit
maybe a bit concerning the other discussion topic around here (US stuff), this direct link to the real topic would help some people. its just that i cant get the link to work the right way: i would like the link in the text to say "sweeps" in blue as a link that, when clicked, links to the page and page mark http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nielsen_Ratings#.22Sweeps.22. if anyone could please adjust my poor attempt at doing so, thanks a lot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.63.71.252 (talk) 00:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
actual span? edit
I'm looking at Polyamory: Married & Dating, which claims the show has been "on hiatus" since autumn 2013. This is probably but one example of fans' irrational optimism, so I'd appreciate a guideline.

- Shows have come back from longer hiatuses than six years so it is possible. Anything would need to be verifiable there is nothing about the term in of itself to verify either way. To say either way without a source saying so is WP:OR --137.87.0.40 (talk) 23:05, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
