Authority? edit

Should we include in this list any other heraldic society's that are not founded by monarch or state? --WhiteWriterspeaks 21:09, 11 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

No -- they are not authorities, which are the subject of this article. I'd say they should rather be the subject of a separate article on heraldry societies (or perhaps heraldry and genealogy societies, as some cover both fields), to avoid confusion. Arthur R (talk) 20:08, 12 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've just started a separate article on Heraldry societies. Arthur R (talk) 14:48, 13 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

College of Arms edit

"in principle, it is illegal to bear arms in England unless they have been granted or recorded by the College." - If that is true then someone will be able to quote a law. If the relevant law cannot be quoted then this is going. Kiltpin (talk) 21:28, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

And it's gone. Kiltpin (talk) 14:38, 8 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wiki-Table? edit

Am I the only one to find this list confusing? Authorities that have not been an authority for 500 years; some have functions and some don't. Could this not all be condensed into a table? Country/name of authority/dates/current yes or no/who they grant to. Some idea of costings would also be useful. I do not know how to make tables in wikipedia, otherwise I would do it myself. --Kiltpin (talk) 12:54, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
