Talk:Hedonometer

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Hooperbloob in topic But how does it work?

As I was writing this, I realized that there's already a page at Hedonimetry that is awfully similar. I agonized over whether to just create a new section there or what, but ultimately decided to just be bold and follow my intuition that it's distinct enough to warrant a new page. I have no clue what the precedent is for where to draw the line on things like this, so.... yeah, does anyone more experienced than I have any opinions on the matter? I'm increasingly skeptical of my own decision, haha. It'd be a different story if both pages weren't so short, but....... Tophtucker (talk) 20:52, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Potential fodder for expansion edit

Daniel Kahneman, in "Objective Happiness," refers to Edgeworth's "hedonimeter" and says that "more recent statements of it can be found in Parfit (1984), Broome (1991), and Parducci (1995), and it is invoked implicitly or explicitly in utilitarian analyses (Glover 1990)." I'll try to get around to looking into that some more. Tophtucker (talk) 04:00, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

But how does it work? edit

A little more detail on how it arrives at its conclusions would be good. --Hooperbloob (talk) 18:41, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
