== Pronunciation of 'Harry Hole' == Hoo-lah.

Can someone add the phonetic pronunciation of 'Harry Hole' please? From my scant knowledge of Scandinavian languages I would expect the 'r's to be lightly rolled and the surname to be pronounced something like Hur-ler. 83.104.249.240 (talk) 02:44, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it's like HAY-REE HOE-LLLLL. 2600:1700:C891:10C0:2D35:6582:253E:C19F (talk) 00:58, 31 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

It is pronunced Hol-lay like 'holy' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.167.140.33 (talk) 03:41, 16 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's how his colleagues down under pronounced it in The Bat but, as Harry himself accepts with a certain resignation, that is only an approximation of how he himself would pronounce it. To quote from the novel, "Harry Hole considered his options. He had decided to spend the first days in Australia correcting the pronunciation of his surname so that he wouldn't be confused with apertures or orifices. Mr Holy however, was infinitely preferable." 83.104.249.240 (talk) 16:40, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
