Lead
  • Seems to be a little on the short side to adequately summarise the article.
Breeding and early life
  • "Canary Bird was by the imported stallion Albion and out of the mare Panola by the imported stallion Ainderby." I've got an almost complete blind spot when it comes to understanding family relationships, but I just can't follow that at all. So Canary Bird's Mum and Dad were Albion and Panola? How does Ainderby fit into this?
Racing record
  • Wouldn't this be better named "Racing career"?
  • "Harry Bassett’s owner and trainer was David McDaniel ...". In the immediately preceding sentence we were just told that McDaniel had bought Harry Bassett.
  • This one is a convention in writing about racing - if the trainer is also the owner, you mention it as it's very unusual. Ealdgyth - Talk 13:45, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Stud record
  • "Harry Bassett died on October 27, 1878 at McDaniel's farm in New Jersey". Is this the same McDaniels stud farm that we we told about in the opening? If so, we already know that it was in New Jersey.
  • Hope that helps, let me know if there is anything else that needs doing? (He's NOT going to FAC, just too skimpy) Ealdgyth - Talk 13:45, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
