Merging "split-trail" into another article edit
IMHO the proper place for "split-trail" would be in an article about gun carriages, unfortunately, that page is a redirect to an article on limbers and carriages, principally prior to the 20th century, and it would be very difficult to incorporate artillery carriages in an article that has its emphasis on the limber, not the carriage.
Redirecting it to "Gun mount" would not be easy either, as Gun mount is principally about mounting small-arms and machine guns, not cannons. That article would require a complete rework where the complete current article is reduced to a section in an article dealing with towed-artillery, self propelled artillery, mortars, railway, disappearing, wheeled and tracked armored vehicles and many more types of gun carriages which a dedicated article would serve better.
I would like to convert the redirect page Gun carriage into an article. It would then be very easy to describe the carriage types and various design features with links to each. What is the consensus on this? Buster40004 Talk 03:48, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
