2005 Birmingham Tornado

Was this building damaged by the 2005 Tornado in Birmingham? I think I remember hearing about damage being done to this building as a result. Does anyone know anything or have any sources? Thanks - Erebus555 20:55, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Jihad Training

I wonder how many people know that Jihad training takes place in the mosque or that converts are told that they shouldn't speak to their Kafir parents?? Hasanovic 26 13:36, 5 November 2007 (GMT)

would you care to actually provide evidence rather than simply making a baseless accusation? What kind o fjihad training? Are they teaching people how to create suicide vests? Maybe they can get hold of small arms for young muslims to launch mini mumbai sttyle attcaks. Proposed for Deletion

I've proposed this page for deletion, since it contains nothing that isn't already covered much better (i.e. up-to-date and with citations) in the page about the Channel 4 documentary, Undercover Mosque. The appearance in that documentary seems to be the only reason this page is here at all. EmmetCaulfield (talk) 08:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Keep - and improve with physical descriptions of historically interesting site/buildings. One of the buildings in the complex is a listed building Historic England. "Details from listed building database ({{{num}}})". National Heritage List for England. and was originally a Martin & Chamberlain Victorian library and baths. As such it could make part of a worthwhile article, so long as the article is about the buildings and not dominated by current events, which belong in their own article. I agree that if the article contained the content that you suggest, it should not be considered for deletion. Right now, however, and for a very long time, it has been (at best) a copy-paste of a paragraph from the Undercover Mosque documentary article. Since you object to the deletion, you should remove the {{prod}} tag and, ideally, improve it if you can: even the addition of the above info about Grade II listed status would be an improvement. Keep - It should definitely be kept as I believe it was created before the documentary page and the building is a notable Birmingham building and should therefore, be brought together with other Birmingham listed buildings.

Also, it might be worthwile, bringing together the various Birmingham Mosques or Places of Worship which are floating around Wikipedia. A relevant table at the foot of these pages would be suitable. UK 007 (talk) 14:56, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

The Imam Abu Usamah at-Thahabi preaches here (as seen on aforementioned documentary). What is not mentioned is that he has several wives (obviously not legally binding marriages), and a number of ex-wives. He has been known to counsel reverts to abandon their current 'kaffir' partners to marry muslim women, or to take additional wives. Edit that has detached statements from citations, added an unsupported statement near a citation, and other problems

A recent edit has introduced some problems:

• The words "Established in the 1970s" have been inserted in a sentence that has a citation. But the citation does not support the new statement.
• There was a paragraph relating to Channel 4's 2007 Dispatches programme. The edit split this paragraph. Before the edit, all statements had citations that supported them next to them. This is no longer the case. This means that the article no longer complies with Wikipedia:Verifiability.

In addition to this, the edit removed cited information about the history of the Eid celebration. The history of the Eid celebration is relevant to the mosque. No explanation has been given for deleting this.

The edit has also removed "Firefighters visited the mosque in 2009 to teach people how to escape a blazing building or road smash scene."

Originally this read: "The mosque works closely with Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police and local emergency services", but an IP editor changed it to the words that Snori deleted. It is surely significant that the mosque works with the local community, not just the moslem community.

There is also an inline link to an external website[http://www.icea.org.uk/about-2/madni-jamia-masjid/ Madni Jamia Masjid]. Wikipedia:External links says that "Wikipedia articles may include links to web pages outside Wikipedia (external links), but they should not normally be placed in the body of an article." I thought that this had been introduced by the edit, but I was mistaken. It was there before in a different place.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:09, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
