RAF Greatworth edit

A veteran has joined the RAF Greatworth website [1] stating he was posted there in 1948. He claims that as good as he can remember, the station looked well established then, as though it had been there for some time. This last echoed by Mr Savage from being stationed there in 1954/5. This would contradict the date of the Air Ministry's purchase of land. Might they have instead, purchased the lease? The aerial map does not have a precise date. The interest shown by this RAF Greatworth website in the origins of the station is fuelled greatly (no pun!) by the obscurity of its early history. Virgoprestige (talk)
