~~{{reqphotoin|Alberta}}~~ The Grande Cache Correctional Centre (a provincial correctional facility) was built and operated for approximately 12 years prior to the federal government taking it over, the first Director being Ross Willmott. This greatly assisted the town as it had a stable employer which helped during the bust times in the coal industry.
