⸘GOT (not Got)‽ Threaded discussion (5 Jan 14, – 19:54; DjScrawl curtailed import)

There has been a discussion about the capitalization of the name of Got7, whether it be stylized as GOT7 or Got7. Here is a complete transcript from User_talk:DjScrawl#Got7/GOT7 WP:PRIMARY at List of JYP Entertainment labels, etc. Please comment here. Kkj11210 (talk) 00:19, 6 January 2014‎ (UTC)

Hello! This is about the recent editing on GOT7. Since GOT7 is constantly capitalized, following MOS:CAPS leads to stylizing the name as GOT7. Here are some secondary sources that capitalizes the name as such: [1] [2] [3] [4] Official Twitter Page Naver search result

Should I add those sources? If there's anything I missed, please reply. Thanks! Kkj11210 (talk) 14:27, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Sincerely, as (wannabe-)creators of the article at Got7 (band), thank you for your edits! I assume many of you are adventurers who're more active on ko:Wikipedia (where I correspondingly adventurer), a behaviour that I should be encouraged, IMO. (I trust I may ask you for ko:WP guidance another time.)
NB: I've been a Hallyu fan since 2010 – blame E.via and her "쉐이크 (Shake)!" (Last.FM), then The Hair Kid (Last.FM) and his E.Via (이비아) - Shake! (쉐이크!) (The Hair Kid Booty-Leg Remix) on YouTube, which I consider to be near as seminal, in recent times, as "Mr. Taxi (Japanese dance version)" (just not with UMG backing).
@재즈리: If my English is especially difficult for you, pls ask for clarification – I'll write in a plain yet precise/unambiguous style, with plenty of wikilinks, which I trust will Google Translate, etc. better than a dumbed-down style.
If it's GOT7 according to WP:CAPS, et al, that is the way I want it!
However, notwithstanding more prescribed language domains (e.g. I suppose, fr:Wikipedia), en:Wikipedia is the School of Hard Knocks for contra-grammatic stylisations (commonly: ad hoc romanised for many K-pops, and prior romanised for many Hallyus). And, the CAPS acceptance threshold is more than verifiably majority-usage (vis brand image) and more towards overwhelmingly common-usage (i.e. readers who would prefer grammatical stylisation are given the benefit of the doubt), rightsholder/agent-usage is a CAPS consideration (vis brand identity), but less so if it: flies against layperson-common-usage or rightsholder/agent-adherence is itself compromised significantly by common deviation(s) (vis brand dilution).
Yes indeed! – The usage/rightsholder-endorsement, I describe, should be WP:RS cited. No doubt :D your ref's embody, at least, some of that (I'm currently too busy elsewhere to check/insert them).
@John:'s recent move to Kukl (band) illustrates that that prowess is relatively irrelevant (and, I trust, he will correct me where this generalised/basic-principles explanation is contra-consensus, vis WP/MOS).
I think, a more useful example's my recent move to Sir Reg – this illustrates a relatively mature article loosing it's all-caps name, but shows the RS being found/placed (also see CAPS, PRIMARY and WP:COMMONNAME, and surrounds, for analysis techniques commonly used). Also, see:Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Korea-related articles (MOS:KO)
Note: I did not cite the Got7 stylisation as such, cause en:WP lacked ref's for the band, seemingly, any place and it was created only yesterday (embryonic). However, I did WP:AGF+WP:BLUESKY it as an alias (your cites should at least back that up).
In short, I think, your best next more is to place RS citations on the GOT7 stylisation at the Got7 article (as I did for Sir Reg). Then check the links above to ascertain that your proof is complete, un-refutable (or unsupportable) and for other techniques, which my help lead to one of those ends.
By the way: This topic can be expected to receive best consensus at Talk:Got7. Feel free to copy/paste (not delete, pls) this to a eponymous topic there, plus a breadcrumb wikilink back to here (to attribute the original). If this seem beyond your expertise, pls let my know.
I trust that's all clear (pls WP:BOLD if not). Huzzah!   – Ian, DjScrawl (talk) 19:54, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

⸘GOT (not Got)‽ Kkj11210's WP:EDITWAR ultimatum #1
  • If there are no replies for the next 7 days, I will stylize the name as GOT7. Kkj11210 (talk) 00:19, 6 January 2014‎ (UTC)
  • @Kkj11210: Neither yourself, or anyone else, seems to have embarked on any of my advice, as #DjScrawl 19:54, 5 Jan 2014: In short. In light of this, your "no replies for the next 7 days, I will" ultimatum is very surprising and unwelcome! Please, rescind it.
This (WP) is a place of verified facts and consensus on how to be best present/interrelate those facts – Not a place of last rumour standing!   – Ian, DjScrawl (talk) 18:03, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
  • It's not an ultimatum. It's simply information concerning action following WP:BOLD that I've put before on other, inactive talk pages that had no active users. It's stating that if no other users comment on the line of thought, I'll change the edits as stated on the talk page. If the statement is that bothersome, than I'll rescind it. Thanks! -KJ riposte 23:33, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
On the matter at hand, incrementally:
  1. As a WP:bOLD assertion such is an wikt:ultimatum#Noun.
  2. However, WP:bOLD is subservient to WP:BRD and your lack of reply to my o/p tract^^ means you're to-Discuss (not bold)! Thus, yours is inherently not a WP:BOLD assertion.
  3. Moreover, your assertion is to revert my edit – thus literally, a bamboozlemented (a bit like weasel worded) ultimatum threatening WP:EDITWAR.
  4. Meanwhile hang-on-a-cottonpickin', sanitystrongly emphatic expletivecheck! You asked advice and, assuming as WP:AGF, I went to a great deal of trouble to give such that's clear from many perspectives and to which I have had no reply, whatsoever – nor, in fact, any show of gratitude. The sole acknowledgement has been the advised transfer of the topic to here.
  5. The first step suggested by that advice is to add some cites (for the links conveniently in your o/p). – I fail to imagine what your counterargument might be ...
  6. ...esp' given the supposed strength of your verification!
BTW, on ignoramity: ... However, when my LINUX advice seems as pearls before swine, I'm reminded of the "I'd prefer not to worry my pretty little head about it" perspective explained in In the Beginning... Was the Command Line by Neal Stephenson.
NB: When I said rescind, it was to include not preclude striking (which, I think, is better). Nice word: "bothersome", yummy! :D   – Ian, DjScrawl (talk) 03:15, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
  • I apologize for any hostility and ill feelings that my words have caused. The reason I placed the discussion here and not added any sources was that I wanted a consensus on the talk page before doing any changes. My proposed action is to move the page title and change the stylizing to GOT7 per the issues I've mentioned. -KJ riposte 04:20, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

⸘GOT (not Got)‽ Threaded discussion (03:37, 6 Jan 14‎ – present)
  • I initially created this page as GOT7. (p.s. my first language is English so there shouldn't be a problem with me conversing in English.) 재즈리 (talk) 03:37, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
I believe that there is an overwhelming consensus in society to stylize the name as GOT7. The popular web portals Naver and Nate both stylize the name as GOT7 as seen here and here. The JYP Entertainment site also stylize the name as GOT7 as seen here as well as the official Twitter page here. As for secondary sources, allkpop articles are here: [5] [6] as well as other sites [7] [8]. Korean news sites also agree on the name as GOT7 as seen: [9], [10], [11], [12]. Thanks! -KJ riposte 04:20, 8 January 2014 (UTC) </snipped>
Again – such verification would include – verified specification of brand identity (rightsholder/agent's chosen), including exemplary 1st-party cite(s) [these are the cite(s) worth putting into the article ASAP], then:
  1. Consistency of brand identity – WP:RS statistical verification(s) that rightsholders/agents near-invariably adhere to the brand identity (ratio of adherence:contra-adherence statistics is overwhelming 1:near unanimous)::#WP:RS statistical verification(s), another ratio(s), that brand dilution (of brand image), vis brand identity is overwhelmingly low 2

Austrian linesman Clemens Schüttengruber signalling an offside offence has taken place
If one's case is good, this is not hard!
Thus, vis those steps, your cites are mostly anecdotal and, outside their contribution to 1st-party cite(s) and inclusion in the statisticals, not germane to that process.
NB: You seem to be treating me as if I oppose your opinion, I do not! I have no opinion – Any opinion I might have is pending the presentation of evidence of the MOS required veracity. Progress toward such has been disappointing. In my current mode, you effectively arguing with a linesman!
Successfully herding cats is rarely rewarding in and of itself!   – Ian, DjScrawl (talk) 04:33, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
  • First of all, I'd like to point out that the above discussions are a bit incomprehensible (probably due to the odd section headers and off-topic statements). Anyways, the article is at Got7 and not GOT7 as per WP:ALLCAPS, because "GOT" is not an acronym. Thank you for understanding. Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 13:05, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

(Not an editor) fan request

I'm sorry for this sloppy edit into here but I joined just to request that the editors of this page find a way to include the groups full filmography. I came to look at this groups filmography and saw it had been deleted almost completely. This was the most complete list and other kpop group pages have not edited out the information but instead added links to separate wiki pages with such information. People should be able to find the information here so please find a way to include it. If you delete this talk for it's poor entry quality I understand because I have no clue what I'm doing but please still discuss it. Looking at the articles history I can say that deleting the information is clearly why the page is getting editing wars. I understand there is some sort of kpop article cleanup going on but you are ignoring the people who will most want to view the page and they are reacting. Thank you peachywink (talk) 22:35, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

No one is ignoring anything. Editors are to follow Wikipedia policy and that's what's happening. You admitted you have no idea what you're doing, so all I can say is read Wikipedia policy, compare Got7 articles similar ones outside of kpop, and then if you still believe the changes violate Wikipedia guidelines, come back here for a discussion. However, "I don't know what's going on but I don't like it, so change it" is not a valid argument for anything. We also don't delete talk page entries; talking is what they're here for. Sorry Wikipedia doesn't fit your needs; for intensive, exhaustive documentation of any subject, a wiki dedicated to that subject is the way to go. Wikipedia is not for that purpose. It is not a fan page. ^^ Shinyang-i (talk) 04:39, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

Ok Well...

.(The Editor never said you were ignoring anything, try re-reading the article! Mikepellerintalk 09:10, 4 January 2015 (UTC)) Editors are to follow Wikipedia policy and that's what's happening (The pages it's happening on seems to be subjective, yes?). You admitted you have no idea what you're doing, so all I can say is read Wikipedia policy, compare Got7 articles similar ones outside of kpop, and then if you still believe the changes violate Wikipedia guidelines, come back here for a discussion.( The Editor was asking for help, instead you chose to tell them how bad they were doing instead of supplying help. How nice. Mikepellerintalk 09:10, 4 January 2015 (UTC)) However, "I don't know what's going on but I don't like it, so change it" is not a valid argument for anything. (The Editor never said that, you are making conjecture! Mikepellerintalk 09:10, 4 January 2015 (UTC)) We also don't delete talk page entries; talking is what they're here for. (But you admitted that you don't make discussions on talk pages because there are too many, but claim those same fake talks as real discussions! Mikepellerintalk 09:10, 4 January 2015 (UTC))

Thank you for responding both of you. I understand that maybe I am annoying but I am not one of the people that has been messing with the edits of the GOT7 article. I just wanted to talk about it with those who are the experienced people editing it. If I understand right what I am hoping can be done is actually what Shinyang-i suggested. A wiki article dedicated to that subject with a link under filmography to that article. I think you are telling me to do this myself rather than asking others who are busy and don't want to bother with it. So does that mean it is okay to create a GOT7 filmography page? (It would be my first wiki page I ever made and I just want to be clear so not to get in the way of experienced editors) Also when it is done can I come back here and request the link be added under the filmography section at which point that can be discussed? Again Thank you. peachywink (talk) 15:35, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi again, @Peachywink:. You're not annoying, don't worry! I was a little gruff with you earlier, but I'm always happy to meet a potential editor. Right now the Got7 pages are under constant edit warring and people are making duplicate and unneeded related articles all over the place, many of which are quickly deleted by community consensus. So it's been a little wild! ^^ There is a general limit to how long a Wikipedia article should be, so when it gets too long, certain portions of it get broken off into separate pages, as you've seen. Right now, there's been so much vandalism and edit warring on the Got7 page that it's been hard for editors to build various sections in an appropriate manner; too many editors just want an "information dump" - a huge list of stuff with no meaningful prose about any of it. These information dumps then get removed by other editors and in the end, we have nothing at all for some sections. One thing that we're trying to move away from are filmographies that list every single TV appearance, as it's not encyclopedic, it's not meaningful, and is not the norm for artists outside of kpop. You'll definitely see it on many artists' pages, but that doesn't mean the practice should continue. That's the type of thing that should be on a fansite, not Wikipedia, and I think many editors totally support the idea of developing such fansites. If you have a list of Got7 TV appearances and want to try to work on an article about them, you can build one in your sandbox, but it should include programs in which one or more members had a major role (in the case of dramas), was a regular guest or host, or was otherwise particularly notable; it should not be a list of every appearance. If it's your first article, it's a great idea to have other editors look at it in your sandbox, before you actually publish it. Was this helpful? Shinyang-i (talk) 21:06, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you @Shinyang-i: that was helpful. I will admit if given my way I would probably do the huge dump list too but I also understand this is not the place for that. I do still want to try to make a proper page with the groups filmography since there are things that meet the standards but are not currently listed so I will work on it in my sandbox. last thing, I did notice the american pop stars I looked at for reference all had videographies instead of filmographies and wanted to check which was more appropriate to try to create (I think the difference videographies include music video appearances). peachywink (talk) 1:27, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
To be honest, I don't really know the difference between the two! I see both terms used. Writing a good article is really hard; there are a lot of rules to consider, lots of tough research to do, and, well, writing is hard!. Many editors want to get the information out there, but lack the confidence/time/whatever to turn out a quality article. I think that's why so many people make information dumps instead. Making the tables and stuff is challenging, but not in the same way that writing quality prose is. Your desire to make a good article is awesome - I totally recommend you spend time in your sandbox! ^__^ Shinyang-i (talk) 01:42, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi again! So i built the article as best i could in My Sandbox and now need to know where I should go to find editors to tear it apart :D ? Just a name of a group that might be willing to have someone look at it because I've taken it as far as I can on my own and now just need some help and feedback. Thank you in advance to whoever answers! Peachywink (talk) 09:02, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Golden disk awards

Someone needs to update the awards that has permission to do so. Also a decision needs to be made on whether or not to include the extra award given during the awards show called the "China Goodwill Star Award". I can't find any reliable sources on what the award is even given for but they got a trophy and gave a second televised speech.Peachywink (talk) 06:20, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

went ahead and updated the award results but didn't add the goodwill award to the list.Peachywink (talk) 05:47, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

The awards sectionlinks

So an experienced editor Kww stopped by this article today removed all the awards categories but one today due to the others not having references. I undid his revision added references that I know are not the best but are relevant because their I don't believe in their logic. As the people working on this page know there is some what of an editing war going on with awards section on this page so I wanted to state why I re-added these awards despite not having as good of references as I would want. Those awards ( MAMA, GAON, SMA, and GDA) that were kept on this page were not only the ones decided to be notable by consensus of WikiProject Korea/Popular culture, they also all have awards ceremonies that are nationally broadcasted in South Korea. I don't know why this editor singled out this article since they usually stick to western pop artiste awards articles, which are much easier to obtain references for, but if they really wants to edit un-referenced awards articles please start by deleting the Academy Awards pages such as this one Best Visual Effects which has a grand total of zero references but list winners of the award from 2014-1927. Peachywink (talk) 00:49, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

It's a random selection: I don't focus on any particular wikiproject's failure to source awards. However, it is each editor that adds information's responsibility to provide the citations to reliable sources. No one else's.00:53, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
thank you for responding I have no clue how the random assignments work nor do I know who added the awards I suspect a number of people over time. I just needed to add my statement because that section falls into an editing war so often that when I re-added those awards I became concerned this would create further issue. "Why those awards but not the others?" sort of conversation. Majority of the WikiProject Korea/Popular culture work currently is creating and enforcing standards for these articles I wanted to be clear in talk why I felt these should be kept despite my links being less than ideal. Radio program

BamBam is currently one of several host for a short reuccuring radio segment on the Kiss the Radio program called language and the city. I'm not sure how many episodes there will be in total and am unsure 1. if it is notable enough to add anywhere and 2. If it should be added where does it go? Videography or prose or leave it until he has done enough to get his own article page and they can mention it there? thanks!Peachywink (talk) 16:11, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

JB has a wikipedia page. Please add links to his profile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JB_(singer)) as appropriate so his information as part of Got7 can be rounded out. Hallyutanya (talk) 16:05, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

the new awards

Someone added 3 new awards I am unsure how notable they are. I know they had awards ceremonies but so did other awards that were deemed not notable. Also is this one of the instances soompi is an okay source? I just don't want to clean up the improper source format only to have to delete it later.Peachywink (talk) 18:50, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

Members section removal

Reply to Mikepellerin's edit summary (You didn't say anything when JB"s page was re-directed! How are you fighting for this now? The members information should be in the articles description!~): I don't understand this comment. What does JB's deletion discussion have to do with this? If you think the members' information should be in the article, why did you remove the members section? You can even expand the section with short biographies, as has already been pointed out. Random86 (talk) 04:21, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

I expanded the members section a bit but anyone is welcome to expand more or to fix my horrible grammar. I was typeing fast and wasn't really sure what to say but I tried and it's something... and I added references so people can't yell at me too much about the fact I don't know a better way to refer to jyp than as "the group's company's founder and CEO". Ugh, that sounds so awkward. Peachywink (talk) 23:37, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
How about, He was given the nickname Jr. since Park Jinyoung is also the name of JYPE's founder and CEO. Mikepellerintalk 02:15, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
AH that is much better! Thank you!Peachywink (talk) 03:30, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
@Mikepellerin Could you also give me your thoughts on this line in JB's section? "due to a famous senior singer sharing the same name as him" I feel the alliteration sounds weird and is a bit clunky with the "as him" at the end but if you think it's fine I'll leave it, because I'm not completely sure I could write it better. Thank you! Peachywink (talk) 12:47, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
How about: He was given the nickname JB due to him sharing the same name as Im Jae-bum a famous senior singer. Mikepellerintalk 02:19, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Yeah that sounds much better thanks again for the help!Peachywink (talk) 14:00, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Added ref for Jr. stage name change.

because it is a notice on the groups official page and might go away I also put it in the wayback archive. Peachywink (talk) 15:17, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

why I changed Hong Kong, China back to Hong Kong

The person who made the edit might not understand English perfectly as the insertion was a bit weird. They wrote it in as "Hong Kong,China , and" but maybe they were just being careless, because I make mistakes too. Anyways in a list like this all the other members have just their country listed so writing Hong Kong, China makes it seem like their is a member from Hong Kong and a member from china. If they are saying Hong Kong is Provence/ state/ territory/ whatever of china then it should simply be written as China with Hong Kong removed. We didn't put California, America in the list for Mark either. If however they are saying they are both countries or that it's not as simple as being a state then I say go with what is on Jackson's official profile: Hong Kong. Peachywink (talk) 21:24, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

the award bouts

someone added to the awards charts the bout for each award like it was the 29th or 3rd ect, and gave that it's own column. I have looked around and it doesn't seem to be common practice to include it, plus my personal opinion is it looks weird, and has no relevance to Got7 winning the awards. So I removed it, an edit that changer junior to Jr. in just the info box, and the inclusion of the sbs mtv awards which was an online only award. Peachywink (talk) 12:04, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

The names in the members section

I'm posting this just to explain why I edited the member's names the way I did and some of the issues there might be with it. Basically too many people were trying to edit the section to change how the names were being presented and were creating larger messes so I tried to find a better way to write the names where there could be a standardization between all the members. I decided to just go by what the sources said, and I did my best to match up with it. I think it turned out well as I based how to do this generally off the exo member page bu there are a few issues that may come up. A problem with Jackson is that there's no good source to his real Chinese name so I had to leave it out (which I know is going to probably cause some ip's to try and edit it in). Some people list it as jia-er (or something like that) and others who say it's ka-in or ga-in, but those are ALL blog sources. His official profile just list his full name as Jackson Wang so that's what I wrote. Another issue is JB and Juniors hangul spellings for their stage names needs to be checked by someone as I could not find a definitive source on it but it is basically just the Korean version of phonetically spelling to match the sounds. Lastly according to his own official profile Mark's full name is Mark Yi-Eun Tuan... so NO, I did not just make that spelling up myself. If you think there is a better way to do this then have at it but remember to check that your edits don't break that section of the page somehow. Peachywink (talk) 02:07, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

The Netease Music Battle

I removed it from the awards section because I don't think it's an award...however it does seem a bit significant, since this event went on for more than an hour, had millions of live votes, and Got7 won with 3.8 million votes. I was thinking of adding it to the videography under variety shows, but I'm hoping I can get other editors' opinions on if it is notable enough or if you guys think it does qualify as an award.Peachywink (talk) 02:05, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Jackson's french

It keeps getting added by fans so I'm putting it down here so next time I can say "see talk page". There is no sources for any of Jackson's languages other than hearing him in video clips holding conversations, and the term used is proficient not fluent on purpose to account for his Korean ability. As for Jackson's french speaking abilities he doesn't have enough skill to pass a midterm in french 101. From what I can tell someone taught him basic french phrases and he can remember 3 of them very well: Hello, how are you, my name is Jackson. That's it though, he always stalls out after he runs through them, and throws at a random french or french sounding word to end it. Until video surfaces where he appears to be holding a conversation beyond those phrases I think adding french would be a lie. Il ne sait pas français.Peachywink (talk) 07:40, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Dream knight Award

I remember the drama won some kind of official award, or at least the writer or director, did but I forgot about it and now am having trouble locating it for source purposes. Does anyone remember what the award was called or an article for it? Peachywink (talk) 20:05, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

Should they get a separate awards page?

It's seems like that section might have become a little too long to be on the main article. Opinions? Peachywink (talk) 18:06, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

I think that would be a good idea. It will make the page neater and less subject to culling by the anti-table people. :) Mikepellerintalk 00:30, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Why It's "cast" and not "casted"

I'm sorry that I have to make a section for this but I want to be clear and avoid having an edit war over something this small. I'm sure many people have heard the word casted used though they might not be able to point to a specific instance. This can be partly because many books and movies will have the word in them if the stories are either set or written in the later part of the middle ages. This is because casted comes from middle English and was switched out for "cast" somewhere around the 16th century. Although casted has been seeing a recent resurgence in use it is not considered a proper past tense for "cast" at this time and therefore currently falls into the same category with words such as irregardless. Coul you add a link to Yugyeoms name? I made his page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Yugyeom Yugyaeom (talk) 16:51, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Please update the images of the Got7 members to more recent photos of them. Even the ones from 2016 are fine, but some members look much different than from older photos. 71.49.165.201 (talk) 00:16, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. What photos do you want to add? —MRD2014 📞 contribs 00:24, 22 April 2017 (UTC)

How to create a wiki page?

Photos

I would like for the pictures for the page and individual pages of each member to be updated especially since Jinyoung has a picture of Jinyoung Park head of thier company and not a photo of him. It's disrespectful. Can photos be from 2017 too since they have all grown up and now they are gaining more fans so it would be nice for those who are interested in them to be able to see them for who they are now and it will make it easier for them to learn the names. Got7 will be releasing new music on March 12, 2018, with it's single Eyes On You, co-written by leader, JB. Tash6396 (talk) 03:43, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

/*Members */ profile.

The members' profiles had been in GOT7's page until 2017-10-24 but were deleted as irrelevant content. Youngjae's draft is luckily accepted and I already have linked from this page, butDraft:Mark Tuan was declined for 4 times in September. And Draft:Yugyeom (South Korean Singer) is waiting a review. I asked the reviewer of Mark for re-review but he/she answered that Mark doesn't have enough solo activity to have his own page. I think we need some profile of Mark and Yugyeom in GOT7's Members section until their own page are created. Their profile are too little in the present situation. Small correction

"The group is composed of seven members: JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and star dancer and hit the stage winner Yugyeom."

Can the 'star dance and hit the stage winner' be removed? Those informations can be added in the member profiles. Choiyjg7 (talk) 07:02, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Eclipse Music Video

On May 20th GOT7 came back with their Album "Spinning Top: Between Security & Insecurity" and their Music Video "ECLIPSE". The song was written by J.Y Park, Mirror Boy, D.Ham, Munhan Mirror and the leader of the group JB also known as Defsoul. The EP features songs that talk about insecurity. To promote their album, GOT7 will embark on their Keep Spinning world tour, which kicks off on June 15 in Seoul, South Korea. The tour will make stops in places such as the US, Canada, Australia, Latin America, China, Europe and the Philippines. Prdsjoanna (talk) 14:43, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

Mark's musical notability

Mark Tuan satisfies the criteria of musical notability separate from the Got7 page on the grounds of having ‘a record certified as gold or higher in at least one country’ and ‘a single or album on any country’s national music chart’.Tahmigot (talk) 16:39, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

"Mark Tuan" listed at Redirects for discussion

A discussion is taking place to address the redirect Mark Tuan. The discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 July 5#Mark Tuan until a consensus is reached, and readers of this page are welcome to contribute to the discussion. Since the previous submissions, and rejections, of a Wikipedia page for Mark Tuan, the latest draft Draft:Mark Tuan has shown the developments of notability outside of Got7 and his solo works which have increased since 2018, especially given his status as a solo artist in China from the beginning of 2020 with two singles charting in major Chinese music platforms: QQ Music, KuGou, Kuwo, and NetEase Cloud Music on which he has charted and has received gold certification for his first single. His music has also been available worldwide on iTunes and Spotify to which sources in the draft show a charting position. Aside from official music releases, he has a large fanbase across the world, particularly in China as evidenced within the talks of his solo career. This is why I believe he should be given an independent Wikipedia page much like five of his co-members.Tahmigot (talk) 17:04, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

members section

You can't just put in a table, and you can't create a list of catagories like their indivdual JYP profiles. If you want that info in there you have to write it out in short blurbs like the members section over on the Apink page.Peachywink (talk) 18:40, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

So you mean we can't create individual profile pcreateor each members ?

NedNaz (talk) 09:17, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

Hey, can't we make a page for Mark and Yugyeom? Other members have their own pages. TitamAhgase7 (talk) 16:42, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

I am making an individual page for Kim Yugyeom as he is already establishing himself as a producer and songwriter, even releasing 3 self-produced songs this May 2020, independent of his group Got7 and his agency JYP Entertainment. I believe he has a right to his individual page as he is already appearing on his own in multiple South Korean variety shows such as Law of the Jungle and King of Masked Singer, even emerging as the winner in Hit The Stage way back in 2016. He established himself as prominent and skilled dancer in that show. He performed without any help from his group and was solely his own choreography and crew. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KYG ahgase (talkcontribs) 06:11, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
