Notability of Gospel Nights
editThis article has been tagged for notability - and here's my argument. The album represents a turning point in Muldaur's career. She had a religious experience while her daughter was in surgery for life-threatening injuries from a car crash, which renewed her Christian faith. As part of that, she wanted to do a full gospel album and gathered friends who were also serious Christians to perform one night at McCabes. It also has notable performers and T Bone Burnett (who was somewhat unknown at the time), who did the liner notes and helped with the production. It's also a rare performance of several songs by The Chambers Brothers. It is notable, and I'll be adding many more references in the days ahead. It got good reviews at the time.
