Talk:Good Morning Britain presenters and reporters

Problem article edit

This article has a number of problems. First it is largely empty. Second, there are two programmes called Good Morning Britain. So either this article needs to be renamed, or the presenters of both series need to be included. Softlavender (talk) 06:32, 15 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Table Removed edit

I noticed the table was removed and replaced by a list which I don't necessary agree with so I am curious why this change was made. JohnGormleyJG (talk) 14:57, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Episode Cast Section edit

The Episode Cast Section should not be included. That is futile TV Guide material which wikipedia in not. It does not fit the guidelines of WP:IINFO, WP:FANCRUFT . I will remove this section as it does not comply with these guidelines, if you disagree please respond, rather than edit war. Thank You -- JohnGormleyJG () 17:41, 11 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I removed them at one time, but the I.P. kept adding them and I just got tired of messing with it. Glad someone else agrees! Corkythehornetfan 17:59, 11 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ahh, you shouldn't have given up WP:DENY. If ever that happens again on something else come to me for support. Did you warn the I.P. and show theme the WP:FANCRUFT article. I agree with you this has no relevance here. Nobody will think one day, "Oh I might want to know who presented Good Morning Britain on January 6th" that is too trivial for the hardcore fans of GMB. Unless somebody wants to set up a fan site for Good Morning Britain and keep that there. It should not be here. Thank you -- JohnGormleyJG () 18:11, 11 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
No, I didn't. Don't know why either, I usually do! Thanks. Corkythehornetfan 20:17, 11 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
I agree with the fact that nobody will want to know who presented Good Morning Britain when, but then why has somebody created a cast on the Loose Women presenter page?

Presenting Team edit

The presenting team is wrong atm, Sean can no longer be classed as a main presenter. Kate can longer be called a 'Stand In' too really. The list should be like this; Susanna Reid: Main Anchor Ben Shepherd: Main Anchor Charlotte Hawkins: Main Newsreader/Occasional Anchor Kate Garraway: Anchor/Occasional Newsreader Ranvir Singh: Newsreader/Occasional Anchor Sean Fletcher: Sports News/Occasional Newsreader John Stapleton: Occasional Newsreader

This reflects what happens now.. Gone are the days of the four people round a desk! Kate/Ranvir now appear twice a week most weeks. Kate a lot more as she covers in absence of Ben or Susanna. Roles reflect what's actually happening. Mintyfresh2012 (talk) 17:13, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

It is not based on current. Sean does not get suddenly demoted. You cannot judge on your opinion of whether Kate is main or not, nor can I. That is why we judge it by credited main. When ITV commissioned this show they had 4 main presenters. Susanna, Ben, Charlotte & Sean. The others are stand in for when any of those 4 are absent. Please read MOS:TV Thank You -- JohnGormleyJG () 19:43, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
How about removing the list of main/stand in presenters? Just having a list of all presenters... like I suggested above you can call the original four 'main Anchor/Main Newsreader/Main Sportsreader. I'd suggest keep the list the way it is.. Just remove main/stand in. Mintyfresh2012 (talk) 11:57, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
We cannot unfollow the guidelines just apply for 1 person, who sometimes is a main anchor. This is occurring now the most as Ben & Susann→a are now on holidays. You cannot credit the stand-ins equal to the mains. -- JohnGormleyJG () 15:11, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Whatever just currently it's misinforming people.. But whatever... Kate and Ranvir are not stand ins they're not the main presenters but not stand ins both appear usually twice a week (that's not someone who stand ins!) Mintyfresh2012 (talk) 07:46, 21 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
They are not official main presenters of the team. They stand in for the main presenters on their days off or holidays. The fact that there are main presenters 1 will be out 4/5 days of the week. They then stand in role of presenter on that day. The fact is there are 4 official main presenters (Used in promotional photos, adverts ect.) The rest are not main If you prefer we could call Kate, Ranvir & John recurring presenters rather than stand in as that might be a bit more appropriate. Having cleaned-up both the Good Morning Britain Wiki pages in the past day (and removing a hell of a lot of fancruft-style commentary and non-encyclopedic language), I feel this particular article's contents would be better placed as a section in Good Morning Britain (2014 TV programme). Now all the unnecessary info has been removed, I feel the length of this article is simply too short to justify keeping. I would have gone ahead and merged/redirected already but wanted to see if there were any objections first. LBM talk to me 20:36, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
