I deleted the lyrics to Go West by The Village People / Pet Shop Boys, because it's copyrighted material. 85.76.152.179 17:39, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

"Go West" and "Go West, young man" should be the same. Currently the former is a disambiguation page, the latter a redirect to Manifest Destiny. This should be corrected - the simple solution is to make Go West, young man redirect to Go West, but I'm not sure that's the best solution. -Pete 07:04, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is by no means a generally accepted fact that the phrase, "Go West, young man" derives from John B. L. Soule. See the discussion of the controversy on the page for the phrase, and see the discussion of this topic in the Yale Book of Quotations (2006). Encyclopedic entries should not make controversial assertions as if they were fact and especially without a citation and a fair treatment of all sides of an issue.
