A source should be cited for the specualtion about Wylie's religious and other personal views. Also sources should be cited for the Superman and Doc Savage connections. If this is unsourced, it is subject to dfeletion as original research, which i suspect is is not. DES (talk) 16:39, 12 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

re: "Inspired, and Inspired by" edit

"Hugo Danner is also considered to be the inspiration for the Pulp Hero Doc Savage." this line is incorrect.

"The Savage Gentleman" (1932) inspired the pulp-fiction and radio character "Doc Savage". this line from the Philip Gordon Wylie entry is correct.

the different powers and actions of the two wylie characters make this obvious.

i would not presume to edit the page

- i leave that to the author.
at wikipedia, everyone is the author. I wrote most of this article, but I did not include the line in question. It's wikipedia: feel FREE to contribute if you know something more. Can the comic book info be toned down and simply be put into a single section? edit

Throughout the entire article, it can't go from one section to another without at least a mention of a comic book. This is really annoying and adds nothing to the article itself, which should be about the novel. Even the synopsis can't finish without someone having to write down a Superman reference and that doesn't add anything to the story of the novel itself. There should be a trivia or inspiration section to put all these comic book references in there, instead of putting them at random places throughout the article.--The Real Iron Tiger (talk) 00:54, 2 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
