Errors edit
- The tapes have never been officially released. They were shared, not "released", in 2006.
- The songs from the third tape were not "Released in 2006 (first generation, as tape three)". None of the songs that have circulated from the third tape are from a first generation copy (besides the tracks that appeared on "Juvenilia"), this includes the mp3s on the girlysound.com website.
- The claim that "Ant in Alaska" was re-recorded as "Go On Ahead" for whitechocoatespaceegg is ridiculous. The two songs share a vaguely similar chord/rhyming pattern but are otherwise completely different. (Seriously? They are VERY similar. AiA was reworked into GOA beyond reasonable doubt.)
- The song "Whip-Smart" has always been known by that title, not "Double Dutch". The confusion seems to have originated from this webpage and stuck over the years: http://www.reocities.com/SunsetStrip/Club/2471/girlysound.html. The article from Rockpool referenced on that page (http://www.reocities.com/SunsetStrip/Club/2471/00000029.html) talks about songs Liz borrowed melodies from ("Double Dutch" by Malcolm McLaren, "Head On" by The Jesus and Mary Chain and "Chopsticks" by Euphemia Allen), however, besides "Chopsticks", Liz did not use those same titles for her own compositions.The original song titles used on the third tape have been clarified by John Henderson[1].—Preceding unsigned comment added by Europeanson (talk • contribs) 00:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Name edit
Well, having looked into this myself, I was surprised. I'd always known them by girlysound, and that's what the first USENET reference (May '94) calls them. Tae Won Yu apparently called them "Girly Sound" when he recommended them via that Chemical Imbalance fanzine, though, and I'm assuming he'd know. The other name is equally valid as a common name, though, so I've cited all four common forms (well, not all the possible combinations!). --Dhartung | Talk 07:56, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Girly Sound v. girlysound edit
The original artwork, designed by Liz Phair in 1991, lists the artist's name as Girly Sound (two separate words).
Yo Yo Buddy Yup Yup Word To Yo Muthuh and Girls Girls Girls are the proper names of the first two cassettes, respectively.
Title Change edit
I'm not sure if this is possible, but shouldn't the title of the article be "Girly-Sound" (note the hyphen)? All instances in the artwork except one have the hyphenated spelling. --173.218.215.70 (talk) 04:34, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
Third Tape edit
It seems as though the song titles and sequencing of tracks in the article were lifted from the girlysound.com website.
