Genu as singular of genus

edit

@Klbrain: I saw that you had added "Latin singular of Genus, one of the eight major taxonomic ranks" to this disambiguation page a while back. I had thought that genus was the singular and genera was the plural in both English and Latin when referring to the taxonomic rank. A web search seems to me to confirm that. Do you mind if I delete that? Thanks, SchreiberBike | ⌨  04:24, 16 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Back in 2015, I must have been thinking about nominative singular, which is Genu, but I agree that Genus (singular) and genera (plural) are of most relevance when talking about taxonomy, and Wikipedia isn't a Latin dictionary. Thanks for pointing this out; I've deleted the relevant line. Klbrain (talk) 12:33, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
