- Another stale banner, although the list of "other French overtures" is unreferenced, as is the statement that this form should not be confused with the Italian overture. Nevertheless, these seem uncontroversial (especially the last item), and if this article were any shorter, it would consist only of inline citations. - Good point. The article is in general rather skimpy, and would benefit from a discussion of the contributions not only of Telemann, but also of many other composers, beyond Bach, Handel, and Lully.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 17:41, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
