I have respectfully removed the merge suggestion. {{Mergeto|Religion in Thailand|date=March 2008}} There are attempts to establish Buddhism as the state religion, which could severely restrict the religious freedom of other faiths. The Queen made a statement recently defending religious freedom in Thailand for Buddhists, Christians, Muslims and others. Buddhism as the state religion is not new. It was enshrined as such in constitutions prior to the 1997 one. --Paul_012 ^(talk) 15:38, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Religion Abuse

History?

There have been greater or lesser degrees of religious freedom at least since King Narai, but I don't know that an historical perspective would be appropriate for this article as presently written.--Pawyilee (talk) 07:00, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
