The new album is not alternative rock solely nor is it the main genre. It can be considered one of them since some songs such as "four becomes one" and "disaster" are certainley alternative rock, but there is a lot more songs that are more straight up rock in the categories of emo and pop punk. So while the genre will stay, it won't be the only or main one.
