Major work

edit

This article needs major work doing to it. I've classed it as Stub, but it is easily at Start class with the information it has. However, the lack of references is an issue and needs attention.--BSTemple (talk) 18:14, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikilinks are also thin on the ground for a large part of the text. Keith D (talk) 21:41, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've just assesed it today, and it still needs references. I would have made it a start, or a C, but for the 2009 comments. --Robert EA Harvey (talk) 21:02, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Virtually everything in this 'article' was word-for-word copyright violation from the Foston Plan 2007 (pages 6 to 8), see: http://www.fostonpc-lincs.uk/_UserFiles/Files/Foston%20Parish%20Plan%202007.pdf This was added as completely unreferenced and un-wikilinked on 16 September 2007 by red-linked one edit (that edit) user 'Mrhowell', who it is reasonable to assume was a sock of User:Marcus r howell (he only edited Foston), who began by tweaking the article earlier, on 16 July 2007. User:Marcus r howell then tweaked the copyvio and added wikilinks between 1 July 2011 and 29 August 2012.

The Foston Plan on page 5 states: "© Copyright Foston Parish Plan Working Group in conjunction with Foston Parish Council". The Foston Plan acknowledges the writers of Foston (revised 1988 edition), a locally sold book, for "allowing chosen extracts" from the book, which reasonably indicates, by the word 'allowing', that the book itself is copyright. The same word-for-word text is found on the Foston Parish web site here: http://www.fostonpc-lincs.uk/Parish_History_2350.aspx where it categorically states under the text "© Foston Parish Council. All Rights Reserved".

How has this copyvio gone unnoticed for eleven years? It should have been obvious when added in one hit that this wodge of text, unsourced and unlinked, was suspicious. I have removed from this article all copyvio and more recent stuff that is completely unsourced. I have also removed all external links that do not have relevance to the current stub article.
