Talk:Foreign official

Multiple issues with the article

edit

The article is written like a dictionary entry and it needs cleanup. Also the article requires expert attention, and it needs references. The article is very confusing and mainly requires copyedit to make the topic clear. The article is wriiten like it is a meaning of a word but it actually has to b about a topic. Severely lopsided

edit

Although this article pays lip service to the existence of external entities such as UNO and OECD, it is written with a very obvious emphasis on US federal law. For instance the Bribery Acts of other national jurisdictions are not mentioned (or at least, not given the prominence due). A more balanced treatment is required. I also agree that the article dwells too much on the meaning of the words and not enough on the underlying concept. --Geau (talk) 05:29, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Here are some existing articles that already cover non-US legislation and international law on foreign officials:

The legal implications should be treated evenly, covering all OECD nations, and this list is a small start in that direction. --Geau (talk) 06:09, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
