Talk:Fog fever

Latest comment: 6 years ago by DferDaisy in topic page title change?

it appears this article addresses a specific disease affecting cattle, so i have made edits to reflect that, this is a purely cosmetic edit, also: added additional links to other Wikipedia pages in an effort to make it less ambiguous, feel free to re-edit or revert the page if anyone feels that my edit was in error or the disease in this article is specific to more than the species originally targeted in this article. im continuing to edit this page based on information ive acquired in new sources, if anyone would like to help just jump right in, a summary of the changes and my reasons will be compiled once i finish. Alberto148 (talk) 03:59, 23 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

page title change? edit

I propose renaming the article to "Acute Bovine Pulmonary Edema" or "ABPE" and redirecting "fog fever" to ABPE Alberto148 (talk) 01:40, 23 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

For wiki encyclopedic style and uniform entry, the title might be changed to its veterinary terms for its clinical symptoms -- "Acute bovine pulmonary emphysema and edema (ABPEE)" or as indexed in MeSH as "Bovine atypical interstitial pneumonia".
How is renaming a page in wiki done? Is there a request procedure?
1. to copy the Fog Fever page into a new page ABPEE?
2. mark fog fever page with a template see/moved to new page?
3. search all uses of "Fog fever" and fix relevant links?
Searched in wiki finds one other use in [veterinary list].
On 2nd thought, "fog fever" is the British term. And ABPEE has other etiologies. Google doesn't show an alternative specific etiologic term. So best to leave "fog fever" until veterinary literature adopts a clearer term (something like bovine refeeding syndrome?).Yohananw (talk) 09:39, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Support leaving name as it is for now since various recent literature is inconsistent in the naming of this disease. DferDaisy (talk) 02:31, 13 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

analogy to refeeding syndrome in humans? edit

Can analogies to refeeding syndrome in malnourished humans be made? Can that analogy be added to this "fog fever" article without a source? Probably not. So moved it here to talk.Yohananw (talk) 09:57, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
