I have spent about two hours researching and hoping to find some type of perfect elucidation to all the misinformation & obfuscation that has cluttered up the entire internet regarding fishing rod action & fishing rod taper. I come from an engineering & materials science background who has just taken interest in fly-fishing being in my near-retirement years and I'm amazed at how much contradictory and bad information is out there. Even wikipedia's own article on fishing rod states that fishing rod action refers to two different things! Not true! (but is understandable because of how much misinformation is rendered by professional fisherman who think they know what they're talking about just because of how many fishing tournaments they've won)
