Talk:Fin Tutuola

I think this may be wrong:

"A former Narcotics detective, Tutuola replaced Monique Jeffries after she left the SVU squad in 2000. He was paired with John Munch."

I believe Jeffries was assigned to desk duties within the SVU squad. She left SVU soon afterwards, but I believe it was after Tutuola had replaced her. Timb0h 22:50, 31 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

That is how it happened. Jeffries had slept with a suspect, and it came out that she was the female equivalent of a tomcat on the prowl when the whole shop had to go through psych exams. It was determined she had issues that could interfere with her ability to do her job, so she was put on desk duty. Tutuola came in asking where to put his stuff, and was unfortunately greeted by Jeffries who commented that he was here for "her" job (on account of she could no longer serve in the field) and he had a "whoops" moment. She turned in her badge shortly after that. Nolefan32 04:52, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

What about his appearance as a pimp in Exile:A Law & Order Movie? He gets killed in the film, then comes back a couple years later in SVU. Anyone have any explanation for this?User:Gstaaaad 05:22, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's actually pretty common. For example, Jerry Orbach appeared as a defense attorney and S. Epatha Merkerson was a cleaning lady in episodes prior to them joining the cast as detectives. And several actors in bit roles have shown up playing different characters from time to time, especially across the L&O spectrum (i.e., it's not uncommon to see a guy play a cop on L&O, then a pedophile on SVU a season later, and then a victim's father a season later on CI). Other shows have re-used actors as different characters, too, which I wish they wouldn't as it can sometimes be confusing as to whether or not the actor is reprising the previous role or playing a new character. Jerry Orbach appeared as a lawyer in an episode from the second season of Law & Order, then played a detective on the show for 14 years starting the following season. Apparently somebody liked his acting. -Grammaticus Repairo 07:11, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just watching an episode this afternoon (Season 2 Ep 21) and at the end Fin hugs a victim. It is quite clear that he is wearing a wedding ring - is this mentioned at any other point in the series? Is the character married? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.220.53.228 (talk) 10:58, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can we get a better picture of the character? Current one seems a little dark. M173627 (talk) 05:12, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Character evolution" edit

It sounds rather prosy to me. The fourth paragraph references "this episode", and the fifth paragraph begins with "Recently..." I'm fine with the material but I think it should sound more like an encyclopedia entry and less like some student's essay. hikeda (talk) 00:15, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ice-T edit

Probably not worthy of including in the article, but isn't it ironic Ice-T, the "Cop Killer" himself, has played a cop on a TV show for almost 10 years? Not that Ice-T killed cops, but he did record "Cop Killer" with Body Count wihch caused an uproar in the early 90's.76.214.202.71 (talk) 03:26, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Continuity Issue edit

In the last episode of Season Eight, "Screwed", I believe that Tutuola testifies under oath that he had been a cop for 22 years. This fact would seem to be at odds with him having been present as an Army Ranger during the Battle of Mogadishu. Any thoughts? -70.251.131.28 (talk) 01:46, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he took a sabbatical from police work to re-enlist.174.65.5.160 (talk) 03:18, 27 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
