Ansa-bone or Ansa-phone

edit

What's the proper name for this character. From my understanding, its Ansa-bone, hence the pun. Am I wrong? Somebody else came along and changed it to Ansa-phone, so I don't know what to think. Anybody have a link to prove it one way or another? Dross82 03:49, 14 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think it depends on which episode you're watching, but the model sheets that come as extras in the DVD set say it's "Ansabone," so I'd say that's the official name. Gladrius 18:55, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

CBS?

edit

Any proof this aired on CBS? I'm pretty sure it was syndicated. In my area it ran on an independant station, not the CBS affiliate. I don't think CBS was airing cartoons on weekday afternoons in the mid 80's, either.

Where I grew up in New York City, it didn't air on the CBS station, so it must have been syndicated. ErikNY 20:28, 28 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
I wrote that and because I read it somewhere. I'd agree with you though because I could be wrong. Dross82 21:52, 28 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

It was syndicated. Beginning with He-Man in 1983, Filmation made shows exclusively for syndication (Gilligan's Planet was their last series for Saturday mornings).

"Real Ghostbusters Controversy Section NOT NPOV

edit

The "controversy" section, especially the last paragraph, need a rewrite to conform to NPOV.

Very true. I created most of this article, and upon further read, you're absolutely right. I tried to fix it up a bit. Dross82

It still doesnt seem right to me, the info is incongruous with the Ghostbusters page which states that "A problem arose during filming when it was discovered that a show was produced in 1975 by Filmation for CBS called The Ghost Busters...but during the filming of the crowd for the final battle, the extras were all chanting "Ghostbusters", which inspired the producers to insist that the studio buy the rights to the name." There are clearly issues somewhere though I don't know where.--CheShA (talk) 16:13, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Tribune Entertainment?

edit

The show's copyright message reads as follows:

© 1986 Filmation Associates/Tribune Broadcasting Co. Ltd

Does anyone know if Tribune distributed this show? I was under the impression that Group W distributed all of Filmation's shows beginning with He-Man in 1983. Can anybody clear up this confusion? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brittany Ka (talkcontribs) 12:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC).Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Filmations Ghostbusters Logo.jpg

edit

Image:Filmations Ghostbusters Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:20, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is fair use. The logo comes from the Celebrity Home Entertainment releases, so whoever posted it got it from one of those. CHE went out of business some years back, so yes, it is fair use. Brittany Ka 12:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ratings hit until...

edit

The article claims that Filmation's Ghostbusters was a ratings hit until The Real Ghostbusters debuted. But both shows debuted on the exact same day, according to Toonopedia. [1] --Metropolitan90 07:22, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
