English born? edit
"Edward II was born in Caernarvon and was the first English-born Prince of Wales"
Either he was English born or born in Caernarvon and therefore Welsh born, he cannot be both. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.122.142.156 (talk) 17:34, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- I understood “English-born” to mean something like “legally English at birth”, so I had no trouble with this sentence. To rephrase: The title of Prince of Wales had been given to Welsh noblemen, and Edward of Caernafon (an English prince, born of an English king) was then the first English-born Prince of Wales. Does that explanation make sense? Cordially, Leafcat (talk) 07:22, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
