While exemptions are intended to make things more fair, often people not subject to the exemption claim it is unfair to them, sometimes leading to controversy, and sometimes leading to fistfights.:

grandfather clause

my husband and I moved in this neighborhood,before a road comittee was formed.now they are trying to say,we can no longer park his semi in a parking space at our home,we told them we were grandfathered in.now they are trying to say that is no longer so,is this legal or are we being harrased for no reason? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.233.128.109 (talk) 16:38, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
