"southern Spain in the region of Kent..."? edit

Is this a typo of sorts? Does the editor mean that there is a region in southern Spain known as "Kent"? Does the editor instead mean that the name comes to English through Kent from southern Spain? This seems to have been the intention of the original editor. References to England and to English were changed by 66.168.145.68 to Spanish and Spain on 18 May 2007, probably simply because "este" is "east" in modern Spanish. In "Old English" "east" was "east-" (with a macron over the e and a grammatical ending, which I suppose in some circumstances could have been -e); and in the Kentish dialect at some time it might have been rendered "este" or something which later came to be rendered "este." I'm going to revert. If anything, the present shape of the article isn't correct, as Kent is (obviously) in England, not Spain. Xenophon777 18:43, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
