Speedy?

I don't know much about this language myself. But the VfD discussion that led to deletion was almost two years ago. I wonder how much time should pass before an article that has been deleted cannot be speedied anymore (except of course when it is obvious nonsense, which is clearly not the case here).

I do remember that there is something about Esata that might make it notable enough for inclusion, but I can't remember what it was. I'd like to hear that first. Instead of a speedy deletion, I'd much prefer a proper AfD discussion here.

In addition to that, I should also point out that Esata has been on the "Things you can do" list of the Constructed Languages Portal. I didn't put it there myself, and asked several times for people to review that list, but no response whatsoever. You should know I'm a relative newbie to Wikipedia, and this is the first article I have created in the English version. I did not even know that the "conlang community" existed until 6 months ago, let alone Esata, and before then only knew of Esperanto.

I think more people who are somewhat knowledgeable need to contribute for this to be an informative article. I have wanted other people's perspectives on Esata since I discovered it a couple months ago, and figured Wikipedia was a good place where conlangers lurk and would be able to fill in the gaps of my ignorance. I remembered to "be bold!" and this was my attempt.

I created the Esata article because it is the only language I have come across that actually simplifies English where it actually still sounds like English. As far as I know, it is the only conlang that is somewhat of a pidgin between English and "every language that is not English" (thus, a link to the Esata article from that page seems like a good idea). I discovered it through a Gmail ad, and figured other people would have more to add. I'm not a linguist, nor do I have time at the moment as I am in the midst of final exams, but I figured people more knowledgeable than me would be able to say more and verify what "seems to be the case" to me, not that what little info I had posted would speedily be taken away! From what I've been able to read, this article does not meet speedy deletion criteria, and the only thing going for it is that it was deleted in the past. This article also exists in another language (see the interwiki link). Shall we suggest they delete their article very speedily too?

• It occurs to me that, if Esata is the first language to include certain features (some are noted above), does that make it "notable"? • • It would really help if some other sources were cited. See Wikipedia:Citing sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability, and in particular Wikipedia:Reliable sources. http://www.beginnersgame.com/esata.html is useful but a Secondary source that has been peer reviewed would help to give some weight.

SATA

I came looking for info on eSATA, the bus technology. As long as this isn't used for the language thing, if that's settled, can we make it a redirect to SATA?

Protected..

eSata should be redirected to Sata #External_SATA not just the main reference. Binarypower 19:36, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
