Not many facts about Ernst are out there.

At one point it was owned by Pay n Save (which is why strip malls often included both a Pay n Save and an Ernst, as well as the fact that they had nearly identical logos.) Tuxmelvin 11:09, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

For Christmas I got some old candles... don't know where someone found them, but they actually have the Ernst logo on them. How weird is that? I'm going to add it to this page when I get the time. Tuxmelvin 09:30, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ernst in Idaho Falls edit

Ernst had quite a bit of the DIY business in my town (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and did quite well here. The chain went bankrupt after building a huge store on the west side of town, after moving out of a smaller location on the north side of town. We didn't have a "big box" home improvement store in the area at the time (Home Depot has been in the area six years, tops and Lowe's just passed its one year anniversary). I think the Idaho Falls store would have done well even after the arrival of the competitors because it's on an easier to access street than the big boxes. The store here went out of business pretty quickly after they declared bankruptcy and the building has sat vacant ever since.

Ernst in Ontario, Oregon edit

Ernst built a large store in Ontario, Oregon just before going out of business. It was never occupied and sat vacant for several years before it was purchased by Oregon's Health and Human Services agency.

Image:Ernst Home & Nursery.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:08, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
