Japanese vowels after "h"

edit

Japanese also uses different vowels after [h], e.g. Gogh -> gohho [1] and Bach -> Bahha [2] Kappa 20:42, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Nucular

edit

Not sure exactly what sort of phonetic alphabet is being used here, but shouldn't it be /nukj@lR/ or some such (in Kirshenbaum) rather than /nukiljar/? I read the latter as "nook-eel-yahr", which I don't ever recall hearing anyone say. --Trovatore 30 June 2005 15:45 (UTC)

I have removed this claim, as it is clear from various other analyses that the "nucular" pronunciation is due to metathesis, not epenthesis. Nohat 30 June 2005 18:17 (UTC)

Merge?

edit

PuzzletChung suggested a month ago that this article be merged with Epenthesis, but there's been no discussion. If anyone wants to discuss it, please do so at Talk:Epenthesis. --Angr/tɔk mi 18:06, 10 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
