Not in Slate Islands edit

I can find no evidence that this island was ever in the Slate Islands. The Slate Island Heritage Trust site ignores it totally. It isn't named as one island anyway; there is a Mor and a Beag, which are only separate at high tide, as far as I can discover. Livingston's Tables are misleading. They lead you to think that they are at different locations. Not so. In any case there is another name: the Black Islands, from the Dubh. Such a term is to comprise the several skerries around the pair also. These Black Islands are not in the line of the archipelago of the Slate Islands. Our article on Eilean Dubh More does not provide one reference identifying Mor and Beag with the Slate Islands. It was not previously so identified in any of the articles. I know the vein of slate mined so heavily elsewhere does touch on the island. No one anywhere says Mor and Beag were mined. So, I am going to create a commons category on the Black Islands and remove them from the Slate Islands. If anyone has a creditable reference showing that the Black Islands were in fact considered the Slate Islands, please put it in. Then we (you or me) can subordinate the Black Islands common cat to the Slate Islands common cat. Not until then, please.Botteville (talk) 05:53, 13 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
