Repealed edit
This article states it was repealed in 1978, and cites two sources that also state that it was repealed in 1978, but doesn't state what caused it to be repealed, or on what day. McKay (talk) 18:27, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
Can we put more info? edit
Why was it repealed? The Mormon leaders had to go into hiding. What happened to the families... Can we expand this article? For further reading, the Wikipedia user is sent to the LDS Church's website. Do you think we could find a more partial observer? How did it affect the Church? Why did the Church change it's policy? Great Progress on this valuable article. edit
My Dear fellow writers,
I am so impressed with the distance this article on this very important act has taken. As a latter-day Saint myself I am interested in the accurate recording of my churches history. In March of 2014 I scanned a copy of Volume 24 page 635 of the United States Statutes at Large of 1887. My copy had an un-needed copy of the last page at the end. I knew that this would become a long trailing sing song repetition of folklore without the needed copy of the actual engrossed and enrolled law. There is a wealth of other information on the three manifesto's that effected polygamy and got parts of the Edmunds/Tucker act repealed. in: "The making of a Mormon apostle : the story of Rudger Clawson" by, / David S. Hoopes and Roy H. Hoopes. (ISBN : 0819172987 or OCLC# 19514770) [1] much more is explained.
Rudger was one of the Apostles that willed his diary to his family. The Family printed that Journal/Diary as the above named book. After this happened the church had all of the general authorities will their Diary/Journals to the church. Without documentary evidence and true copies of these true sources Our beloved Wikipedia becomes nothing other than an apologists work.
