Talk:Eat It (album)

critical reception of this record was almost universally bad . . . edit

There's no section on the critical response to "Eat It," an album generally savaged in the press - many rock historian see it as the beginning of the end for the band, being padded with soul numbers after the tight and hard-rock previous album "Smokin'". I read a lot of rock mags back then, and remember many bad reviews, and only a couple of journalists giving the record a lackluster write-up. Rolling Stone, Creem, New Music Express and Zig-Zag were particularly harsh in their reviews. Nor has the album fared well historically - The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Rock (edited by Nick Logan & Bob Woffinden of the NME) and Rolling Stone Record Guide don't hold it in high regard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.169.34.62 (talk) 10:43, 11 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
