Lyon can only absolutely settle the question of who has the rights to the undifferenced arms but not to the title itself which the HoL would have to settle. Alci12 18:57, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

According to Burk's Peerage, the Arms illustrated were used up to, and including the 6th Earl. From the 7th Earl/1st Marquess(2nd Creation) the 2nd & 3rd quarters were switched. viz Quarterly 1st & 4th, Gyronny of eight Or & Sable(Campbell); 2nd, Argent, a Lymphad sails furled Sable, oars in action proper, Flags and pennons flying Gules (Lorne); 3rd, Or, a Fess chequy Azure and Argent (Stewart).77.101.120.170 (talk) 18:02, 4 January 2012 (UTC)SJHReply
