Appears different than the lead image. - Leonard G. 23:00, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

They are both D. tinctorius, but are different morphs. The one on the front page is probably a 'Regina' morph, while this image is probably a 'Cobolt' morph. --Leperflesh 02:00, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've added it to the article. Note, however, that these are not morphs, but true subspecies (morph and subspecies are not the same). 212.10.79.123 (talk) 21:09, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
There is controversy over the status of the varieties of tinctorius; no recent papers establish any of the common morphs as subspecies, however. In fact, D. azureus has recently been placed as synonymous with tinctorius, without a subspecies designation. --Leperflesh (talk) 20:17, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just recommending that some citations be put in the etymology section.

Учёный-исследователь А. Н.

Indication of synonyms is not entirely correct and accurate here, because — in the past, described certain subtypes and variations of frogs. Does not reflect the current name of the first author, who described the animal. In 1797, a researcher Guvier give to the open them frog completely different name. In this case, scientific name of the frog will be without specifying a name of author-researcher or a description of the first opening. Names of researchers are visible in synonyms with the dates of opening and description of the animal. It is possible that for synonyms create separate articles with explanations and descriptions of the animal, which will be specific species, subspecies or variety of amphibians.

Not extinct? edit

Its written in the article that this is currently extinct, but the Red list claims that its listed as least concern, see Dendrobates tinctorius on iucnredlist.org. Dan Koehl (talk) 17:20, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
