Talk:Draanjik River

I accessed the Black River stub-entry from the List of Alaska Rivers article, where it is indexed under the Porcupine River, which is under the Yukon River Basin sub-section. The Black River stub says it is in the Gates of the Arctic Park, however the Porcupine is well to the east of Gates, and goes further east from there. The Porcupine flows through the southern part of Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, and many of its tributaries are within ANWR. Most of the 'Black country' streams, though, lie to the south of the Porcupine, and may only be partly within ANWR.

I hesitate to start editing these AK rivers entries, since from reading in the Discussion pages the objectives of the authors seem different from my Alaska-interests ... though I do have an old Wikipedia account, which I see still does log me in.

I've reworked the article completely; seeing that there are several different "Black Rivers" in Alaska, I chose to focus on the longest one, which meets the Porcupine near Fort Yukon. Nyttend (talk) 12:49, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
