A colleague who has not bothered to read Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) (which is lk'd from my summary) undid a number of fresh fixes mandated by it. It's never a bad idea to reread such docs, and i find that most of the examples do use a grammatical article at the beginning of any appositive phrase added to clarify the link. Not a good idea IMO, but i'd rather comply with those examples than pursue, right now, changing it at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages).
For the sake of the lazy, i note that:
- Dab entries are not sentences. There are grammatical purposes for periods, but closing noun-phrases listed one per line is not one of them. There is no gram. reason for these period; using one is confusing, & may make some readers reread, trying to parse the entry as a sentence; arguably the unneeded period is actually grammaticially forbidden.
- No lks normally belong in a Dab entry beyond one (to the article best covering the topic that the user might have had in mind in invoking the term being Dab'd). The exceptions are where successful dab'n requires understanding a term likely to be unfamiliar to those seeking that topic -- not the case with any of these.
- Too much information gets in the way of the purpose of the page, which is to not inform but to dab'ate.
- "Fiction" names not just a genre, but an instance of it such as a fictional motion picture ("a fiction"), or its substance or a collection of instances ("fiction").
- "Motion-picture" is redundant to "film", and what follows the lk is not a defn for, nor intended to replace, the lk's text; it is simply a supplement to it.
Perhaps i erred in saying "kill" for "cause the death of". Sounds like a quibble, but i'm not up to date on how many aliens have used force against him to fatal effect, so let that change stand, suitably compressed (until someone who knows that the loose sense of "kill" is not too loose puts that back too).

- Where does it say that dabs don't have to be sentences? The grammar aside, you need context, and it has to be meaningful. What does "involving alien causing Superman's death" mean? Or "Dr.Doom-comic-book country"? That isn't even English. I agree that not much information needs to be in, but there has to be a minimal amount of context, and people should write in complete sentences, even if it seems you prefer SMS-speak.--khaosworks (talk • contribs) 02:45, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
_ _ There is no need to say it, bcz anyone who has looked at a traffic sign, a billboard, an electonic device, a phone book, or a dictionary knows that there are places for sentences and places where they are a pointless burden. But if you had followed the extensive discussion that led to this MoS you'd have noticed it, and you could find it by a search for "sentence" in the talk archives of the MoS (Dabs) tk page. And you did not produce sentences in your versions.

- By all means, conform to MOS, but you are taking it to the extreme. Your edits do not provide enough meaning for people to make sense of them and are grammatically incorrect. By all means remove the periods, but the sentences still have to make sense. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 17:43, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
After reading the MOS I am making the following changes:
- changing the first entry to start with a link to Last Judgment
- removing the entry for the character in Wing Commander (computer game) because that article does not mention Doomsday
- removing the entry for the open-source Doom engine because that article does not mention the Doomsday engine
- wikilinking Latveria in the relevant entry, because that article does mention "Doom's Day"
- moving the section of "Calamity-related contexts" above the "See also" section - the "See also" entries refer to "domesday"
- merging the redundant entries for the Doomsday rule and its intermediate result, also named "doomsday"
- removing the redlink to Doomsday (Deeping) - the linked article Wallace Deeping (novelist) mentions the novel
- de-italicize the link to Doomsday (comics because it is the name of a character, not the title of a comic book
