The shortened version removes that they were surrounded by wildfire flames, and thus makes the hook much more mundaine. In this case the flames were bad enough in the area the men were that everyone outside that area assumed no one could survive them.--Kevmin § 16:38, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
