Date of recognisation of Dobele as a city

edit

In 1917 there was no "Soviet Union", either (a) Imperial Russia (b) the Provisional Government under Alexander Kerensky (c) Russia as a Bolshevik-run state (RSFSR as it was originally known). The USSR was not formally constituted until the mid-1920s after Lenin had established rule after the Civil War. On the other hand Dobele might have been given city rights under Soviet rule, just not in 1917. Please will someone clarify when Dobele was given city rights so I or someone else can make the appropriate amendment to this article. Lstanley1979 (talk) 22:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
