Non Hip-Hop songs

Spelling

Dis not Diss

As "diss" has become the widely-used and widely-accepted spelling of the term in written speech, I vote keep the current page spelling "diss". --Shrinkydinks (talk) 02:04, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

The history section

I wouldn't know enough to make a change, but I'm shocked that there is no mention of hip hop or rap in the history section. Maybe we should add something talking about how diss tracks were a favorite in the 80's and 90's rap scenes and maybe talk about some notable beefs like all the stuff that happened surrounding NWA. 96.241.36.26 (talk) 16:24, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Absence of Hip-Hop songs

Since the list of notable diss tracks was removed (I believe rightfully) in June 2019, there has been a remarkable absence of mention of many of the most important tracks in this genre. I believe this can be remedied by building out the history section of the article—I just wanted to highlight that is is a topic of active need for this article. --Shrinkydinks (talk) 02:08, 5 November 2019 (UTC)

According to the source used at the article, that particular song is. It's not unusual for a band to record songs that fall in genres outside of what the band is commonly known for, and of course the whole genre thing is impossible for everyone to agree on anyway. The sidebar of the AllMusic website is not considered reliable for genres according to WP:RSMUSIC, so I've changed the genre here to "hard rock" for consistency with the "Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...)" article. — Newslinger talk 14:24, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
