A sensible place for Australian image requests
editHi @Gderrin: (Sorry, I thanked you for removing my category. I didn't mean to). I don't believe the category is redundant. The current request system shows the need on an article's talk page, but if one hopes that such requests are collected in some sensible place to be found, then one is sadly disappointed. I am somewhat frustrated about plant image requests: If one is unaware of the parameter in=Australia, the request disappears into limbo, and even if one is aware, then if one is trying to assist by adding photographs of plants, the Australian image request section is ludicrous for finding plant requests. I added Category:Wikipedia requested images of Australian Plants to some of these requests for photos so that someone interested in plants could find them: see e.g., Talk:Hibbertia avonensis, and check the new category (somewhat underpopulated at the moment). This means that if the new category is used in the talk page, the request is finally sent somewhere sensible. Obviously it would be nicer by far to have the category inserted via the image needed template, but I couldn't make it happen... (I hope on further reflection you will agree that there is a need for the Category:Wikipedia requested images of Australian Plants... MargaretRDonald (talk) 00:33, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
